Join us each month at the Barn to help flatten your learning curve a bit with our monthly classes that cover how to grow in Texas. Each month, you will get some of the same information you can find online, as well as how to practically apply it in the gardens. Over the course of the year, you will have a solid framework for growing in Texas. Some of the things we will cover in these classes are:
When to start seeds
Know which plants will grow well in our climate
Learn what the most foolproof varieties that produce in Texas are.
Protect and incorporate wildlife and pets
Choosing plants based on how much time you can spend in the garden
How to grow in beds and containers
Where should you place things?
Sun and Water Systems and Strategies, how to plan for drought, Texas summers
Working with Clay soil, Sandy Soil, or bedrock with an inch of topsoil?
Keeping what you planted alive
