Are your ready to start growing your own food but are overwhelmed and don’t know where to begin?  Join us each month at the Barn to help flatten your learning curve a bit with our monthly classes that cover how to grow in Texas.  Each month you will get some of the same information you can find online but also how to practically apply in the gardens  Over the course of the year you will have a solid framework for growing  in Texas.  Some of the things we will cover in these classes are:

  • When to start seeds

  • Know which plants that will grow well in our climate  

  • Learn what are the most fool proof varieties that produce in Texas.  

  • Protect and incorporate wildlife and pets

  • Choosing plants by how much time you can be in the garden 

  • How to grow in beds and containers

  • Where should you place things.

  • Sun and Water Systems and Strategies, how to plan for drought, Texas summers

  • Working with Clay soil, Sandy Soil,  or bedrock with an inch or topsoil?

  • Keeping what you planted alive

  • Rotation and succession planting
